The Cottage Kitchen was written by Marte Marie Forsberg and is a great cookbook of some classic English country dishes! The cover of this book and the photographs inside are well done and show the food well and give you a great sense of the English countryside.
The book is separated into Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Afternoon Tea, each section has recipes for main dishes and desserts. Each section has a story, history or description of the season or dishes that go with that season. The recipes are well written and have the weight measurement and measuring cup quantities as well, because some people might not have a scale at home.
I baked the Lemon Curd Sponge Cake with Pistachios out of the afternoon tea section. I always liked the idea of having traditional English Tea so I really wanted to make something that would be at a traditional English tea. It was a nice cake and the lemon curd was really refreshing! This was a great cookbook and I can’t wait to try other recipes out of this book
